PopulationManager® Approved by CMS as a Qualified Registry for the 2017 Performance Year

Exciting news from Madison, Wisconsin–Forward Health Group (FHG) received official notification this morning that PopulationManager® has been approved by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a Qualified Registry for the 2017 performance year.

CMS is taking bold steps to transform payment in the Medicare program. Bipartisan legislation, “Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act” (MACRA), was signed into law in April 2015. Under MACRA, CMS has created the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Under QPP, there are two reimbursement tracks:

1) Advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs)
2) Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)

PopulationManager and PopulationCompass™ support practices under both tracks. FHG was approved for all 271 quality measures available under MIPS. Practices that use PopulationManager can also earn significant “bonus” points under MIPS that increase reimbursement, avoid payment penalties, and decrease staff & technology expense.

The first measurement period for MIPS commenced on January 1, 2017. Clinicians that do not submit data spanning the entire 2017 calendar year will forfeit eligible bonus payments through the year 2026. Forward Health Group’s robust Data Stewardship™ process enables practices with cumbersome, time consuming EHR implementations to forego the next upgrade cycle and still report for the entire calendar year.

PopulationManager is the only solution on the market that maximizes data from all sources—EHRs, payor claims, practice management platforms, labs, patient captured results—and delivers clinician engagement through clinically intuitive performance measurement.
